Dear Friends,
I hadn’t realized that it had been so long since I last posted. I have been so busy, we had our school fashion show which was a huge hit. I went to visit my mom in California for a week. My favorite duck died and her eggs didn't hatch due to a power failure, and of course it is spring and I am canning plums at the moment! All this plus working on new patterns. I also bought a new doll, I have been looking at Dianna Effner’s dolls for a long time but just can’t afford her 13-inch girls so I got one of her Ashton Drake 12-inch dolls. She is just the cutest thing and as it turns out has almost the same body as Leeann. As you can see at right the new outfit for Leeann fits her perfectly.
Ashley is a jumpsuit inspired by my old 80’s Laura Ashley jumpsuits. I think I lived in them back in the day. As you can see they both look so cute.
I guess I just got on a roll with Leeann and Effner as I call her, they have 3 more new outfits. A 1940’s overall with blouse called Sunnybrook. I have been looking at a lot of child actors from the past, and love the little overalls. I just started working on an outfit for my LittleFee boy based on Little Lord Fauntleroy.
I did do a romper for my LittleFee girl. I made it in the last of my denim look-a-like fabric and eyelet lace. I think she is precious in this and could imagine it in a small floral just as easily. The pattern is called Miss Muffet. For some odd reason that is what she reminded me off when I was making it. I guess I should have made her a tuffet for the pictures.
I am planing on doing some more things for my fashion dolls and Marley next so if you have suggestions please send them along. Thanks to everyone who has sent me pictures of your work. I realy enjoy seeing how you interpret the patterns.
Cheers and Best Wishes,
Oriole Adams-Harris
